What You Need to Know
Thank you for visiting the Swing Like a Pro website, where you can find information about batting lessons with Ken Joyce. This website includes details on pricing, policies, consent forms, and a link to the schedule. I appreciate all the support for this new business venture and look forward to providing quality instruction for baseball and softball players of all ages!
As per the recommendation of my insurance company, Swing Like a Pro with Ken Joyce requires all participants to sign a waiver and liability release form. Get the form by clicking here. You can sign it and send it back to us via email or bring it with you when you visit the Hit Pit. Additionally, I will have hard copies available at the Hit Pit.
The hours for Swing Like a Pro are listed below. This schedule may change occasionally based on the availability of the Hit Pit at the Westbrook Community Center. If you are interested in private instruction at the Hit Pit located at the Westbrook Community Center, please click this link to see the schedule and email me at [email protected]. In your email, please let me know what you have signed up for, including the date and time, as well as a phone number where I can reach you in case of cancellation. Ensure that you add names to the schedule in the appropriate available slots. The white cells indicate my available times, while the black cells represent periods when I am unavailable or when the Hit Pit is being used by others. If you use your phone in dark mode, the color scheme reverses: white represents unavailable times, and black represents available times. You do not need to register with Google to add names to the schedule. I would like to remind new participants to email me so I can have contact information for those visiting the Hit Pit.
Please be considerate of others when signing up for lessons and be mindful of your schedules. Given the high demand and limited availability, it is crucial to think about others when making your lesson reservations. Please ensure that lessons are scheduled around your child’s practices and games to prevent any last-minute cancellations. Also refrain from signing up for more than two lessons per week to ensure equal opportunities for all participants. This policy is designed to foster a balanced environment where everyone can take full advantage of the available resources and instruction.
I have had to remove clients from the program for continuing to register for multiple sessions each week but failing to attend the lessons. Please avoid reserving spots without the intention of attending, as such actions can create challenges for others who genuinely want to participate. It’s essential for everyone to respect the process and ensure that all participants can benefit from the program equally. Let’s work together to create a respectful and supportive environment for everyone involved!
Beginning in January 2026, a new cancellation policy will be implemented. Lessons canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a full payment fee for the lesson, regardless of whether the spot is filled by someone else. This situation has consistently created challenges for my schedule and has led to additional administrative tasks outside of the Hit Pit. I take immense pride in my skills and in my company’s ability to provide personalized instruction based on the plans I develop.
Furthermore, beginning in January 2026, I will discontinue offering one-hour lessons for individual players. One-hour lessons may not always be effective because of factors such as fatigue, concentration, and player engagement. I believe that shorter, more frequent sessions better support player development. If you wish to schedule a one-hour session, please do so with a partner to foster collaboration, ensuring that each participant feels valued and motivated to improve.
During the winter season, I want to make sure you all have access to the links below to check the possibility of cancellations due to inclement weather. When the Westbrook Community Center closes, we will cancel Swing Like a Pro lessons. Please check the links below for the WCC before heading out to lessons. You can also text my cell phone at 207-749-3663 to check the availability of the Hit Pit during storms. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy during the winter season.
